ARDI which stands for Agency for Rural Development Initiatives, is a non-Governmental organization that operates on a non-profit basis with principles aimed at effective and sustainable community development. The organization was established as a CBO in 2014. It was formed in the backdrop of addressing numerous challenges facing Mandera County. It was the brain child of a few local professionals from communities within Mandera County.
ARDI realizes and appreciates that any entity without a (strategic) plan-document or otherwise-is unlikely to be optimally relevant, effective and efficient especially in the face of the present-day dynamic environment with its frequent changes. We take special cognizance of the very difficult circumstances and unpredictable environments under which we operate hence the need for a critical reflection on environment as a means of deciphering specific strategies to relate with the same.
The strategic plan document is the result of a process of critical reflection and analysis of a number of important strategic elements around our external environment as well as internal organization aspects. The strategic plan is a major milestone for ARDI especially with regard to the relevance and effectiveness of its planned programs and organizational development.
Further, this plan underlines our commitment to improve service delivery in line with our mandate and will guide us in realizing our mission, objectives and strategic direction. We commit ourselves to demonstrate exemplary standards of transparency and accountability to all our supporters, constituents’ other stakeholders as we strive to achieve the goals outlined in strategic plan.
This strategic plan development process would not have been successful without the invaluable contributions, directly or indirectly of our various stakeholders, beneficiaries and other development calibrates.
We wish to invite all development partners who have continuously supported the poor people of Mandera county in the past to join hands with us as we take our development agendas to new levels since we believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of numerous nomadic and pastoralist community we work with.
